Joan Hutton is a saxophone and clarinet teacher in the Minneapolis area, with over 30 years teaching experience and degrees in music education and performance (Ithaca College, Eastman School of Music.) She is the saxophone and clarinet studio instructor at Augsburg University and she has a large studio of private students. She enjoys working with all ages and experience levels and offers lessons at her home studio in Minneapolis as well as virtual lessons. She brings to her teaching a love of performing, joy in connecting with students along their journey of musical growth, and her knowledge and experience in a wide variety of music styles. Joan enjoys meeting each student where their needs and interests lie, which can include fundamentals of tone and technique, classical solo literature, ear training, jazz and improvisation, and more.
